Join VISTA members from across the state along with other nonprofit and higher education partners for networking and professional development. At this event, members will have the opporutnity to connect with members from across the state and explore the central question "How does striving for equity help us achieve deeper impact?"
Agenda Overview
10 am to Noon Introductions and Fundamental Concepts
VISTAs will explore two concepts foundational to achieving racial equity- a representation of the relational worldview model and the social determinants of health.
Noon to 2 pm Networking Lunch and Introduction to the Equipty and Empowerment Lens
Members will have the opportunity to network with higher education and nonprofit professionals, learn about the lens and consider implications for their work.
2 pm to 4 pm Action Planning
VISTAs will have the chance to begin applying an equity lens to their VISTA assignments and create plans to deepen their impact. This will include a networking lunch and background information and the opportunity for small group discussion in the afternoon. VISTA member supervisors are welcome to join their member for both events.
The event is funded by VISTA and Iowa Campus Compact (IACC). We ask that members and staff from AmeriCorps programs pay a small fee to help cover food and facilities.

Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) is a statewide association of college and university presidents providing leadership for the civic mission of higher education. Iowa Campus Compact strengthens the capacity of our member colleges and universities to prepare all students to become engaged citizens.
