Featuring William Kirkley, clarinet Nielsen – The Artist’s Bier Respighi – Trittico Botticelliano Nielsen – Clarinet Concerto Haydn – Symphony No. 43 Lexington Symphony’s February concert this season features the symphony’s own principal clarinet player, Bill Kirkley, whose playing has been described by the Boston Globe as “emotional, committed, and intensely exciting,” The concert also features Haydn’s “Mercury” symphony, which is one of Haydn’s wittiest and most engaging works. In addition, the orchestra will perform Respighi’s Trittico Botticelliano, which is based on three famous Botticelli paintings that hang in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. |
