The award-winning film “Circus Dreams” documents a year in the life of Circus Smirkus, one of the best traveling youth circuses in the world. The film follows the lives of the 12 to 18-year-old performers, which captures their intense work ethic, passion for performance, deep friendships, and budding loves. The film has won awards at festivals in Seattle, Boston, Toronto, and elsewhere. This is the Valley premiere. Director Signe Taylor will be on hand for a Q&A after the film, and the film will be preceded by performances from the clowns, aerialists and other amazing performers who are featured in the film.
Josh Shack, Joy Powers, and Greylin Nielson from Circus Smirkus will be performing live at the Academy, before the film begins.
