New plays by twelve Boston area women playwrights will be performed by actors in a free evening that starts with a cheese and cracker reception and ends with an audience and cast discussion moderated by playwrights Kelly DuMar and Wendy Lement. The festival will be held in the Black Box theatre at the Fine Arts Center, Regis College in Weston, and will include plays by Regis College Playwright and Chair of the Theatre program, Wendy Lement and plays by two of her playwriting students. Short plays, excerpts from longer works and dramatic monologues will showcase plays by: Kelly DuMar, Wendy Lement, Hortense Gerardo, Rosanna Alfaro, M. Lynda Robinson, Lida McGirr, Geralyn Horton, Karla Sorenson, Phyllis Rittner, Ellen Davis Sullivan, Leane Calderone, and Anna Correa. This year's event is produced by Kelly DuMar, Wendy Lement, and Ann Garvin of Image Theatre, and is presented in honor of SWAN DAY (Support Women Artists Now, www.womenarts.org) and The International Centre for Women Playwrights. |
