Westboro Tennis and Swim Club is hosting their third Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! Swim Clinic on Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 1:00-5:00pm.
The December clinic is featuring two popular Olympic Gold Medalists, Josh Davis, a Gold Medalist in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and a Silver Medalist in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and Misty Hyman, a Gold Medalist in the 200 meter butterfly race at the 2000 Olympics. During the clinic each participant will have the opportunity to meet and train with the Olympians, learn performance techniques on all four strokes, and come to an understanding how the body, mind, and heart affect swimming technique.
The Mutual of Omaha BREAKout! Swim Clinic was created by Olympic Swimmer, Josh Davis, who will also be one of the swimmers running the clinic at the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club this year. These clinics are offered by clubs that would like to offer their members and the local community the opportunity to be instructed and motivated by some of the world’s top Olympic swimmers. The first swim clinic came to Westboro Tennis and Swim Club after a strong recommendation from their Assistant Aquatics Director, Debi Kesper.
“These clinics offer an amazing opportunity and experience for swimmers of all ages and levels,” said Debi Kesper, Assistant Aquatics Director of the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club. “It gives them an up close, personal experience with some of the world’s most talented swimmers that they will never get anywhere else.”
“It’s a pleasure to host this event every year,” said Brian Doherty, Aquatics Director at the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club. “We are the only club in the local area that offers this clinic, and to be able to offer the kids a unique experience like this is very rewarding.”
The club has already received a large sign-up response for this clinic, but currently still has limited participant availability (pricing varies) and plenty of non-participant (on deck observation) availability for a cost of $50. All participants (including non-participants) will receive lunch, partake in a personal photo and autograph session with both Josh Davis and Misty Hyman, and will also receive a BREAKout! t-shirt, poster, DVDs, and other souvenirs.
