Extend the life of your well-loved clothing and build a more sustainable wardrobe. In this workshop, you'll learn a fun technique to repair knit fabrics and add beautiful embroidery embellishments. Feel free to bring your own clothing to work on, or practice using the sample fabrics we provide! Beginners welcome.

About the Instructor:

My name is Mariko Sugimori. Im a creative spirit, a mom, and first generation Japanese-American. Im inspired by my mothers boundless creativity and my fathers ability to fix absolutely anything.

I started my love of fiber arts as a child sewing doll clothes on my moms vintage Singer sewing machine and learning to knit at my local yarn store. My creative visible mending journey is partly inspired by my Japanese father instilling the concept of Mottainai, which roughly translates to what a waste. Its a phrase commonly used to express regret of throwing something away when it still holds value.

Open to ages 15+, all supplies included.
