A successful birthday bash for Smiling Kids

November 1, 2005 - The recent fundraising event for Smiling Kids was a huge success. Smiling Kids Founder and President Karen Sommers shared that the event “raised over $74,000 and everyone had a great time with the live auction and dancing”.
Karen went on to say that the event couldn’t have happened with out the help of the many volunteers that committed their time to the Birthday Bash. In addition to committee members, business partners and others in the community, 12 students from the Hopkinton Peer Leadership Group gave up their Saturday evening to help.
235 people attended the event and through their generosity the non-profit organization will be able to put smiles on the faces of more children and their parents and guardians. Karen says “we will now be able to extend our reach into more towns throughout Massachusetts and renew our commitment to our current community partners.”
