| Details: | Our Izaak Walton Fredericksburg-Rappahannock chapter was cited recently by the Commonwealth of Virginia General Assembly for its long-standing stewardship of the Fredericksburg Dog Mart as the oldest dog event in the United States. It's a great event for the young and old with amusement features for the children, including a barrel train, good food, exhibits and vendors, and a Dog Show after lunch. The day starts with gates opening at 9:30 am. There is no admission fee for anyone but a $5 fee will be collected at the gate for parking your vehicle. There will be a singing of the National Anthem at noon along with a commemorative ceremony marking the original purpose of the Dog Mart between the settlers and the Native Americans in the Fredericksburg area. There will be silent auctions and raffles of valuable items. Bring the dog and your kids for a day of fun. |
