| Details: | After a wildly successful debut, the 2nd Annual Michelle Benedetti Memorial Scholarship Fund proudly announces the Hill Thrill Road Race on March 26, 2023. Based on feedback we are adding a second 10 mile course as well. The course was very popular so it is returning (and is the last 3 miles of the 10 miler). Our afterparty at Maria's on Essex St will also return. The 1st race turnout exceeded our expectations will give us some added flexibility in being able to improve our race day experience! Tee Shirts will return and will be partnering with Ashworth Awards on a special race medallion for all participants. We are looking to add more activities post race at the high school prior to our afterparty and awards (details to follow).
All of the proceeds support four yearly scholarships awarded to students at Haverhill High school. Michelle Benedetti worked in social services for more than two decades, a majority of which was spent advocating for children in Haverhill and surrounding towns. Michelle was also an avid runner who enjoyed running many races with family and friends. On May 30th 2019, far too soon, Michelle lost a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. This event honors her love of running and her advocacy for children.
