| Details: | Since its beginnings in 1969, Gong have released albums which created genres, defied genres, and taken people on musical journeys around the stars and back to Earth, all with a bit of "love, from Planet Gong".
Over the decades, with each new album and new tour, Gong have forged new musical pathways, with members moving in and out of the band as the muse would appear or depart. Along the way, Gong has brought influential kindred into the band including Daevid Allen, Steve Hillage, Didier Malherbe, Tim Blake, Pip Pyle, Pierre Moerlen, Theo Travis, Mike Howlett, Allan Holdsworth and Bill Bruford.
A renaissance of the band began in 2009, with Allen adding Ian East (woodwinds), Dave Sturt (bass), Fabio Golfetti (guitar) and Kavus Torabi (also on guitar) into Gong. Allen's life was brought to its earthly conclusion in 2015, but the band has continued with the addition of Cheb Nebbles on drums.
This is GONG today. Still exploring musical innovations, while still being pioneers of psychedelic space Prog rock.
