Details: | A Celebration of Americana Music with the Green Sisters in Lexington LEXINGTON--From Old timey, to jazz, to roots, the Green SIsters from western Massachusetts play it all. The 4 sisters will be bringing their eclectic mix of music to the new Harmony on the Green Coffeehouse Concerts in Lexington on Saturday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m.
Hailing from a small farm in rural Massachusetts, the four Green Sisters were raised with music accompanying their chores. Their sound spans a wide range of bluegrass, barbershop, blues, country, and lots of original songs which fit right into the mix. They’ve been playing venues in New England regularly for the last several years and have garnered quite the following; it’s hard not to smile when treated with their tight harmonies and high energy tunes. Their live show is where they really shine, bouncing their jovial banter around the stage as only siblings can.
Harmony on the Green is a new Coffeehouse concert series hosted by Hancock Church in Lexington. "We've had a terrific launch to this new series, with a great response from the community." says Mark Morgan, Director of Music at the church, "Each concert is wildly different musically (the first two shows featured singer/songwriters Alastair Moock and Reggie Harris, and the Celtic duo of Matt and Shannon Heaton, respectively) and the Green Sisters continue that path in spades." Samples of their music can be found on their website https://thegreensistersfour.com/
Tickets may be purchased at hancockchurch.org/coffeehouse. Ticket price is a suggested donation of $20, or a max $50 per family, but all are encouraged to attend and to pay what they can. Reservations are strongly encouraged. The show will take place on Saturday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. in Clark Hall at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave in Lexington. Free parking is plentiful and the church is handicap accessible. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The show is appropriate for all ages.
