Details: | While your young child is napping, join our napinar to learn a fun nature-based family activity. When your child wakes up, it’s time for outdoor fun!
A fun introduction on how animals get food in the winter, we’ll be discussing how to find wildlife-friendly treats outside and indoors to create a “Treat Garland” for native wildlife. This is a fun and easy way to teach about hibernation, seasonal diet changes, and native wildlife species in your own backyard. Once the garland is completed, it can be hung outside where you can view it form a distance to see what kinds of wildlife visit your home.
Materials needed: yarn or twine, plastic needles, wildlife-safe foods such as unsalted pretzels, cheerios, fruit slices, nuts, and whole-grain bread.
Registration is required.
