ABOUT THE WEAPONS
The Dueling Sword (or Italian Smallsword) is what the rapier evolved into in Italy. It held on to many of the aesthetics of the rapier but became lighter, shorter, and faster. Much like the French smallsword, the Italian Dueling Sword was built to thrust and was a civilian weapon used in duels.
The Dueling Saber is a curved weapon built for both cutting and thrusting. It was both a military weapon used by cavalry during the 19th Century as well as a civilian weapon used in private duels.
ABOUT THE CLASS
Class will be broken up into two halves. The first half will focus on the dueling sword and the second half on the saber.
