Holidays can be a challenge, frenetic energy builds as expectation comes at us in many forms. There is a voice we don’t listen to that sometimes whispers it’s time to slow down. Black Friday Yoga is the answer to that voice inside, that gut feeling that after a day of shopping or after a holiday frenzy, it truly is time to slow down. Give something back to yourself on Black Friday. In yoga there is a concept called Brahmacharya, it means to practice moderation and the use of right energy.
Twisting, balancing and breath will be used to support us in long holds and flowing sequences all done in an encouraging format. Through yoga on the mat we give ourselves space to make mistakes as we fall out of poses. Our authentic inner voice coaches us into recognizing, “that’s okay, I am learning and I’ll keep trying” and the more this happens on the mat we begin to feel comfortable taking it off of the mat.
Yoga has taught me that when falling from grace I can still talk myself back to my best expression of self and I hope you’ll accept this invitation to do the same. Please be prepared with a mat, blanket and pillows for time spent in meditation.

About Ann:
Ann Cedergren (she/hers) holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling, a certificate of specialization from the Alzheimer’s Foundation as a Brain Longevity Specialist, is attuned as an Usui Reiki Master Teacher, 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and certified Full Spectrum Healer. Some of her additional areas of certification include Mindfulness for Educators, Applied Suicide Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Informed Yoga practices. Compassionate about deconstructing rigid beliefs she honors all traditions and identities with reverence. A recent graduate of The Birch Tree Interfaith Ministry Ann is also a seasoned writer and RI Writing Project Fellow offering compassionate assistance in writing vows and eulogies for your most meaningful ceremonies. A lifelong student on a path of discovery, Ann continues ongoing study with Snatam Kaur, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Rolf Gates, Tommy Rosen, Pauline Drossart, Nikki Myers and Sukhmani Rayat and lives in Warren with her soulmate Paul and and their two sons.
