Spinning for Survivors is back for its 5th year! The Spinning for Survivors Spin-a-thon is an indoor cycling event to raise funds for the Florida Tour de Force, which supports the survivors of Florida's fallen law enforcement officers. This event will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL.

We have ten bikes and you can form teams of four or more to ride for the duration of the Spin-a-thon (four hours- 45 minute rides with 15 minute transitions), or you can sign up for a 45 minute time slot individually. Teams will also have a dedicated bike that they can choose to decorate before the event. The goal is to have a rider on every Spin bike for all of the time slots (8am-12:00pm). Riders can sign up for as many time slots as they wish ($25 a time slot), even riding ALL 4 hours solo! It will be a lot of fun and a great workout for an awesome cause!

In light of COVID-19 and for the health and safety of everyone, masks are required to be worn inside the facilities at all times except when exercising/cycling on the Spin bike. Non-riders are not permitted inside the building during the event. Dependent on weather, we hope to have areas set up outside for socializing before or after your ride and for those that may be waiting for riders. We will notify you closer to the event as we watch the weather. Participants must be free from COVID-19 symptoms , not under quarantine or awaiting test results. All bikes will be spread apart for maximum physical distancing and cleaned and disinfected prior to each ride. For more information on the current guidelines set forth by the CDC, visit CDC Covid-19. Thank you so much for your help and understanding!

The instructors are from the Redefine Fitness Ministries with Thomasville Road Baptist Church. All funds will be donated to the Florida Tour de Force.

What is the Florida Tour de Force? Each year riders complete a 270 mile, five day ride from North Miami Beach, FL to Daytona Beach Shores, FL. This year's tour will be held April 19th-23rd . The riders are provided with police escorts by the Florida Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Departments and local Police Departments throughout the state. Riders raise funds through the public sector as well as through the business sector. The Tour annually raises money and distributes the proceeds to the surviving family members of Law Enforcement Officers who die in the line of duty in the state of Florida. All monies raised are distributed to the surviving family members of these Fallen Heroes at the Florida Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial in Tallahassee, FL each May following the ride. For more information, visit Florida Tour de Force.

The Tour was established in 1997 and still is run as a “grass roots” organization which was formed by police officers who wanted to bring awareness and support to the surviving family members of Florida Law Enforcement Officers who have been lost in the line of duty.

Nothing can ever replace our fallen officers to their family and friends. The Florida Tour de Force is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code Tax ID #13-4258426 and donations made to the Florida Tour de Force are fully tax deductible. With help like yours, it allows the Florida Tour de Force to honor our fallen officers and support their families during their greatest time of need.
