| Details: | Join Miquel Rodé of the Cantata Trail for the Bach Festival in Leipzig, Germany. The 2026 theme is the Hit Parade of Bach's Top 50 Cantatas, as chosen by the 2024 concert goers. Come hear these magnificent choral works. Every day we will be greeted with the creations of Bach, in situ, where this musical giant composed, conducted, played the organ and raised his family. There will be some free time to explore the town on your own and rest your saturated senses.
There will also be a three-part series of some piano works by JSBach played by Andras Schiff.
The Cantatas will be conducted by the biggies in the Bach World: Lutz, Koopman, Herreweghe, Rademann and last but not least, Gardiner. Miguel will introduce us to the wonder of the cantatas, although, as of now, the top 50 remain a secret. Miguel has a pretty good barometer of the Hit Parade, however, and he will lead morning discussions to enhance our listening ability. |
