Prizes will be given for Fastest Car, Best Paint Job, Akela’s Choice, Good Sport Award and many more! The first pinewood derby was held on May 15, 1953 and this fun competition continues to this day. It is so iconic, it has its own Wikipedia Page! “The pinewood derby is the wood car racing event of Scouts BSA.
