Details:Paula Poundstone casually delivers smart humor with a razor-sharp, spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend. "A Prairie Home Companion" host Garrison Keillor described her as “the bravest and best improv comic of our time.”

Poundstone shares quirky observations about politics and current events and talks about life raising a houseful of kids and animals. She infuses this with a healthy dose of audience interaction, which ensures no two shows are alike. Poundstone can be heard regularly on NPR’s weekly comedy news quiz "Wait, WaitDon’t Tell Me!" and is the host of the popular Starburns Audio podcast "Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone."

The first woman to perform standup comedy at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, she has starred in her own series on both HBO and ABC, is included on Comedy Central’s Top 100 Comics of All Time, and won an American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-Up.

To provide additional comfort, we will offer a livestream option for ticket holders, so if you feel unwell or uncomfortable attending, you also have the option to watch the performance live from home. A link will be provided to ticket holders by email prior to the performance. This stream is only available live.

We want you to feel comfortable with this in-person experience. In addition to distanced seating, we will adhere to CDC and Virginia Department of Health guidelines, including placing hand sanitizer stations throughout the building and following thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures, with special emphasis on high-touch surfaces. Face coverings are required to be worn by visitors and staff members at all times in the Moss Arts Center, including while seated during performances.
