This beginner-friendly oil painting series is designed to help you feel more confident with the medium, whether you join us for just one session or several. Depending on which week you attend, youll learn about different tools, techniques, and subjects that will give you a strong foundation to grow from.
Youll explore how to choose and care for paints, brushes, and canvases, and discover how to take a painting from a simple sketch all the way to a finished piece. Youll practice working from photo references, learn the basics of composition and design, and experiment with brushwork and color. Along the way, youll also get the chance to focus on specific subjects like trees, rocks, clouds, or water, building your skills step by step in a supportive, approachable environment.
