Discover Ohio – The First American West
Discover the incredible and varied history of the Ohio River Valley – from its beginnings as the first American West to its bustling and revitalized cities along the Ohio River and finally to the fertile farmlands and rolling hills that attracted the Amish to settle in the region. This tour has something for everyone.

Highlights of this tour include:
• See where the Ohio River forms at the confluence of the Allegheny and the Monongahela Rivers in Pittsburgh, PA
• Tour the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory and historic riverboat town of Marietta, Ohio with a local guide - learn about the area’s first pioneers and the importance of the Ohio River in the city’s history
• Spend 2 nights in Parkersburg, WV - experience the intriguing past of one of West Virginia’s most historic cities
• Visit the Campus Martius Museum & Ohio River Museum to learn more about the area’s frontier and riverboat history
• Spend 3 nights in Cincinnati, OH – located on the Ohio River, this vibrant city has a remarkable history and storied past
• Tour Cincinnati with a local guide – including the Over-the-Rhine district - known for its 19th-century architecture, learn about the brewers and Bootleggers, and how the river served as the figurative and literal epicenter of the Underground Railroad
• Visit the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens
• Enjoy a dinner cruise on the Ohio River
• Visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center - a Smithsonian-affiliated museum that gives insights into past and current struggle for freedom
