Strawberries are heading into their third season in Des Moines, and they are absolutely worth the wait
These are not typical grocery store berries. Youll pick them right from the vine, at their peak, with less time between the field and your first bite. More sun, more time to ripen, and no long-distance travel means they taste the way theyre meant to, and hold onto more of their natural nutrients along the way.
Theres something about eating a strawberry right where it was grown that just feels like summer. It all comes down to timing. Store-bought berries are picked early to make the trip. Ours stay on the vine until theyre ready, which means more sweetness, fuller flavor, and a taste you never forget!

A Farmyard with outdoor indoor playgrounds for little ones to run wild
Throughout the summer, expect to see cut-flowers, raspberries and blueberries (ripen through different times during late June - August)
