Details: | (re)Frame: Community Perspectives on the Michener Art Collection is a Museum-wide project designed to reinterpret the Michener’s permanent collection with input from the wider regional community, including cultural historians, environmental scientists, local LGBTQIA+ youth, Native American storytellers, and general visitors to museum, with a view to a future reinstallation and reinterpretation of the permanent collection galleries. Community and guest curators will mine the Michener’s collection and select artworks to display and tell new stories about identity and the environment. Additionally, various “frames” or stations throughout the galleries will prompt visitors to share their own perspectives on selections from the Museum’s collection. |
