Program Itinerary:
Welcome and sign-in Intensive goat snuggles and techniques for scratching, petting, and massaging our four legged friends (can be applied to dogs and cats too!) Questions and answer session. Small groups go to practice their skills with the horses as well :) Hand-washing and Time for purchasing farm products if desired Each session will include lots of goat cuddles and possible shenanigans to make you laugh, as well as a chance to spend time with our horses. This is a great way to help you release stress, do something good for your body and mind, learn ways to connect more with animals, and just have an hour to be you.
What to wear/bring: Plan to wear clothing and shoes that can get a little dirty (closed toed shoes preferred). Bring a LARGE TOWEL or blanket (we will have some for rent for $2 if you forget yours). Please bring a mask. Typically we are able to make them optional, but just in case someone is severely immune compromised we may ask that those near them wear a mask. No earrings in ear lobes or necklaces please, and you will want a hair tie for longer hair.
Ages: Recommended ages 6 and up (All minors must be accompanied by an adult for sign in), but younger children are still welcome, please email us to discuss
These classes lend themselves to relaxing, calm time, so all participants will need to be aware of and open to this.
Cost: $20 per participant
About the animals: Goat snuggle area: We have 21 Nigerian dwarf goats. All are trained to cuddle. There are also two sheep who have spent their whole lives with the goats and cuddling people. Horses: We have one Halflinger (super social) and one miniature horse (sweet but a little shy)
We will no longer be doing feeding before class, but you are still welcome to bring treats for the goats that our staff will give them at regular feeding times. We are also happy to take your old food you are ready to throw out to give to our pigs Miss Charlotte and Piper throughout the week (dairy, meat, veggies, and fruits)
Limited spots so register early!
