Details: | This work was selected by Nick Sly (Doctoral Student in the Department of History at Michigan State University) who explains: “My wife got me interested in Nam June Paik’s art. We attended an exhibition of his work in 2016 in Seoul, South Korea. When I was young, I was interested in John Cage’s work, and then I learned that Paik was part of the Neo-Dada Fluxus movement and was inspired by Cage, which made sense. What I like the most about Paik is that he was a pioneer in video art and emphasized the development of new technologies. While researching the work Untitled, I was surprised to learn that the artist produced prints like this one. I believe Paik’s foresight into the world we live in today allows viewers to rethink how modern technology can shape our routines.”
