Description - Cumbia is a Latin dance done at Salsa clubs and venues where the music has Mexican and Columbian influences. Along with Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Cha Cha, Cumbia rounds out the Latin Club dancer’s repertoire and will keep them in high demand all night. Cumbia shares the same steps, patterns, and rhythm as Street-Style Salsa, only the styling is a little different. Cumbia has a distinctive lilt and grounded look which hint at its roots as a folk dance. No Partner Needed. This class is taught by Juan Garcia. Description - Sensual Bachata was created in Spain in 2005. It is an increasingly popular variation of original Dominican bachata. Sensual bachata uses elements from salsa and zouk to add smooth circular movements, body waves and isolations to the basic bachata steps. Come join Megan Kitner and Dmitri Iazikov to learn how to train your body to create a smooth basic step and do body isolations, body rolls and dips safely. We will also focus on how to incorporate the body movements into your bachata partner work by focusing on skills and not set patterns. No partner needed.

Description - When people dance Cuban Salsa as two partners instead of in a group, it is called Casino dancing. Participants in this class will learn moves to incorporate during social couple dances and also improve their leading and following skills. No partner needed. Taught by Vito Garcia.

April 6 - April 27
- 7:00pm - 8:00pm - Intermediate Bachata (Dominican Mix)
Description - Bachata is a partner dance from the Dominican Republic. The music has 8 counts like salsa. Juan Garcia will teach a new partner combination each week that participants will be able to incorporate on the dance floor at social dances. This class will be a mix of Dominican and other bachata styles. No Partner needed

- 7:00pm - 8:00pm - Learn to Call Rueda de Casino Wheels
Description - Have you ever wanted to start a rueda at a social dance, but couldn’t find a caller? Did you ever think that you would call the rueda if you could? If so, this class is for you! In the first two classes participants will learn how to call ruedas and how to choose moves based on the elements that comprise the song. In the last two classes participants will take turns practicing what they learned.
Advanced level in Rueda de Casino required. Taught by Vito Garcia. No partner needed.
