Details: | Demystify the "secret energetics" of pranayama and bandhas (yogic seals) of a yoga practice. You will learn a step by step approach to developing a pranayama (breathing practice) as well as ways to increase prana (life force) within the bodies.
The Yogis believed that one could store this life force in their bodies to heal themselves and others. We leak our valuable life force with improper diets, thoughts and poor posture.
Join us in learning this therapeutic breath linking movement and stillness that is a foundation of meditation practice and good health and vitality.
We will learn different pranayama techniques and how we can manage our thoughts, energy and emotions as well as begin to explore:-bandhas: energetic seals-anatomy of the breathing-variations of postures and how breathing can enhance our asana practice.
Required reading: The heart of yoga Chapters 6 and 7. (Read prior to the module)
Materials to bring: Sattva Hatha Manual, The Heart of Yoga, standard yoga props (2 blocks, 2 blankets (or 1 blanket and 1 bolster), and strap)
Course completion requirements: Attending and participating the course module (or completing makeup assignments given by the teacher). Create a pranayama practice and log 30 days of pranayama practice in Home Sadhana Journal and fill out 1 page reflection journal |
