Details: | Plastic pollution affects our health, our ecosystems, and our future. Designed to last forever but often used for moments, plastic waste is one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time. Beyond Plastic Ecochallenge 2025 is a 31-day journey throughout July where you’ll explore solutions to plastic pollution at multiple levels — from the personal choices you make each day, how we influence those around us, to shifting the larger systems we are part of. As you curate your own Ecochallenge to refuse and reduce plastics for one month, you’ll choose actions from four categories: First Steps: Start with You, Level Up: Influence Friends and Family, Lead the Way: Shape Your Community, and Change the Game: Shift Systems and Policies. No matter where you are on your sustainability journey, you’ll find meaningful actions in this Ecochallenge — from everyday habits to big-picture change. Two Houston—based teams have already been set up – see the links below to join them. Or, create your own team or join as an individual. For more information about the event, see this link: https://beyondplastic.ecochallenge.org/. For more information on the teams below, contact Lisa Brenskelle at gcs.lrc@gmail.com.
