| Details: | A unique cultural exchange between Houston, Texas, and Helsinki, Finland, in the form of a printmaking portfolio exchange titled Correspondence. This collaborative project features the creative talents of fourteen accomplished artists, seven from each city, who have explored the theme of connection through their art. The concept for "Correspondence" was born during a dinner in 2022 between Houston artist Kelly Moran and Finnish artist Inka-Maaria Jurvanen. A discussion about fostering cultural ties between their two cities quickly evolved into a creative initiative designed to bridge geographical and artistic divides. The chosen theme, "Correspondence," highlights the intricate connections between individuals, ideas, and communities. Each artist has created a unique print measuring 13x19 inches that embodies the essence of thinking, concentration, communication, and the careful crafting of messages. With diverse printing techniques employed—ranging from relief printing to silkscreen, etching, and lithography.
