Spring 2026 Enhanced Homeschool Programs

Archaeology Principles: Tuesday, Feb. 3 | 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Dr. Kandi Hollenbach and graduate student Mary Katherine Brown will lead this introductory session on the principles of archaeology. Come participate in a fun field experience as we explore the many roles archaeologists play in unearthing, interpreting, and protecting, past cultures.

Sounds of Nature: Tuesday, March 3 | 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Join UTs Ecology and Evolutionary Biology graduate student Ashlesh Pattanaik and museum educators in an exploration of sound and insect communication. From loud cicada choruses to feeble bee buzzes, we will examine the amazing diversity of acoustic communication in the insect world. Using a hands-on approach, we will also learn how researchers see these sounds and decode their meaning. Dont miss out!

Weaving Webs: Tuesday, April 7 | 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Join UTs Ecology and Evolutionary Biology graduate student Caitlin Jones and museum educators in this special program on spiders. We will learn about the general anatomy of the spider and its many hunting strategies, including different prey-capture techniques. Register for this session as we explore the world of spiders through a fun a lab and take-home craft.
