South Eastern Conference (SEC) Initiation

*Beginning in 2023, we have joined the newly created South Eastern Conference (SEC). This conference was set up similar to the King of the Bluegrass series, in that players can play in SEC sponsored events to gain SEC points. These points will be tracked in the Best Coast Pairings app and players can keep an eye on their points in real time.

King of the Bluegrass Invitiational update for 2023

*We will be moving away from the standard 3-round RTT format for our yearly invitational. To start, we will be expanding the field to 20 players for the event. For the first round of the invitational, we will also implement a seeding system based off of the player placings for the year. For example, the #1 player in points for the year will face the #20 player in the first round of the Invitational, #2 vs #19, etc. With double the amount of events this year, there should be plenty of oppotunities to stack up points.

Army Construction:

*2000 point format using the most recent Games Workshop Matched Play format.

*Lists are due in BCP by 6am on the Friday before the event.

*Cutoff for new rules will be the Saturday two weeks prior to the event. If new FAQs are released after that date, they will be evaluated for their effect and may be implemented.

Match Information:

*3 rounds of the 3 hours each with a hard "dice down" at the end of round.

*Time updates will be given at start of round, 2 hours left, 1 hour left, 30 mins left, and 15 mins left.

*At the 15 mins left mark, unless both players are sure a full round can be completed, it is recommended that play stop and scores be tallied.

*If the tournament round finishes in the middle of a game round, only scores to the beginning of the game round will be used.

*Players must finish at least 3 game rounds for scores to count for that tournament round.

Clocks:

*Some clocks will be made available for use and players can use their own clocks if needed.

*If one player asks for a clock, then a clock must be used.

*If the game starts without a clock, but there are concerns from either player about the speed of the game, a clock can be called for at the 1 hour left mark.

*Each player will then be given an even 30 mins left each to finish the game.

Painting/Hobby Scores/Proxies

*Painting will not be required to enter the event, but a "tabletop standard" of 3 colors will be required for the 10 bonus points in scoring.

*Basing will not be required.

*There will be no soft/hobby scoring for this event.

*Proxies are allowed if checked with TO prior to the list submission deadline.

*To check a proxy, email the TO at the address provided above with a picture of the original model and the model that you would like to proxy as for comparison.

Terrain:

*Terrain will use the "player-placed" format and feature all of the current rules included in the most recent Games Workshop Matched Play format.

Rules:

*Players will be required to have access, either physically or digitally, to all applicable rules for their army and be able to present them on TO and/or opponents' request.

*It is the players' responsibility to provide the applicable rules if a TO is called.

*If there are concerns/issues about the game time being used for a TO decision, time will be run off each player's clock as they provide the rules/arguments needed for TO decision.

Tournament Schedule:

*Doors open at 12pm

*Registration/Pre-tournament meeting: 12-12:15pm

*Round 1: 12:15pm-3:15pm

*First Break: 3:15pm-3:30pm

*Second Round: 3:30pm-6:30pm

*Dinner: 6:30pm-7:15pm

*Third Round: 7:15pm-10:15pm
