Details: | What do our clothing choices say about us today? We can learn a great deal about who we were by looking at the material culture of yesterday’s fashion. In the Sheldon Museum’s archives are fashion magazines, trade cards, business cards, catalogs, postcards, broadsides, posters, and all manner of documentation that reveal what Middlebury residents wore, bought, and sold during the 19th and 20th centuries. You may be surprised where you could buy a sewing machine, a top hat, or a corset in downtown Middlebury.
