| Details: | Art Connects/Paper assembles works from the Museum’s extensive permanent collection of Old Master Prints and other works on paper with the goal of challenging visitors and viewers to engage with these works more deeply, considering their own personal responses and reactions to the works, and capturing them via onsite and digital media resources. This installation complements the major exhibition in the main galleries, and both demonstrate how art speaks to us from a particular time and place, as we engage with that work in our own time. The installation will feature examples from Europe between the 13th and 19th centuries, asking viewers to assess their perception of these work from a contemporary viewpoint. This approach focusing on viewer response allows us to share works that are less regularly on view, and to explore more varied and audience-inspired approaches to interpretation of MMFA’s collection.
