Details:Follow in the footsteps of Newport’s colonial-era Jewish community and discover where congregants lived, worked, and worshiped in the 1700s.

This guided walking tour leads you through the historic Touro Synagogue neighborhood, bringing the synagogue’s rich history to life. The tour lasts approximately one hour.

JULY TOUR SCHEDULE:
Every Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday @ 10:00 a.m.
Except: Thurs. July 2 @ 11:00 a.m. and special tour on Tues. July 7 @ 11:00 a.m.

GUEST INFORMATION:
• Tours are limited to 18 people.
• Tour Fee is $18 per person
• Reservations are requested
• The tour fee is paid for in person at the Loeb Visitors Center via card or cash (no online payments).
• Walks may be canceled without advance notice due to inclement weather.

Note: Some sidewalks are narrow and uneven. This walk is not appropriate for young children.

Before or after your walking tour, we invite you to visit the Loeb Visitors Center. Explore interactive multimedia exhibits and browse our gift items. Celebrate over 250 years of Touro Synagogue history, Newport’s colonial Jewish community, the origins of religious freedom, and the separation of church and state in America. Discover how Newport and the colony of Rhode Island laid the groundwork for our First Amendment rights.

Admissions fees to the Loeb Visitors Center's two floors of exhibits and the gift shop have been waived. We welcome donations and suggest $5 per person.

Note: Entry into the synagogue is not included with programs offered out of the Loeb Visitors Center, such as walking tours.
