Details:VIRTUAL WORKSHOP SERIES

The Work That Reconnects helps us to navigate disorienting times. By nurturing a sense of gratitude, welcoming challenging emotions and transforming them into empowerment, we become more able to act on behalf of Life.
Originally developed by root teacher Joanna Macy, the Work that Reconnects is a collection of practices for moving through big emotions about the state of the world, grounded in reality, hope and action. We'll explore the theme of the Great Turning, a shift from the unsustainable practices of capitalism and the military-industrial complex, to a life sustaining world. Our process will use somatic approaches, group/paired exercises, and individual explorations.

"I've found the Work that Reconnects to be cathartic, empowering and inspiring. In particular, these practices have helped me to counter feelings of burnout and numbness. I've been a participant and a facilitator, and am committed to more thoroughly integrating somatic, anti-capitalist and anti-oppression perspectives into these exercises. For me, the biggest surprise has been the utility of continuing to engage in this work, not just once, but as a regular practice." - Lauren

This series will meet four times:
January 9
January 23
February 13
February 27

Each session will build upon the previous session but attending just one or two sessions will still be a valuable experience. Participants can drop-in to individual sessions or attend all four. Students will benefit the most by attending all four sessions.
