For the 2026-2027 season, the Old Town - Orono YMCA is excited to offer Pre-K to 8th Grade athletes an opportunity to compete in Youth Cheer Alliance of Maine (YCAM) competitions and showcases across Maine. The best part? ALL athletes who attend our Rec Team Placement are guaranteed to be on a team!
This year, OTO Cheer Rec Team families can expect two 1-2 hour practices each week, 6-7 competitions and showcases throughout Maine, and team fundraising opportunities.

Old Town - Orono YMCA's Cyr Family Fieldhouse
Pre-K to 2nd Grade • 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM
3rd Grade to 5th Grade • 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM
6th Grade to 8th Grade • 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM
MANDATORY Parents Meeting • 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
As the Old Town - Orono YMCA's premier football and competition cheer program, OTO Cheer offers young athletes the chance to get active and have fun while learning the fundamentals of cheerleading, building their confidence on and off the mat, and developing critical leadership and communication skills.
Our dedicated coaches are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for cheerleaders of all ages and skill levels to build strong and trusting relationships with their teammates, develop new skills, and soar to new heights.
