| Details: | The Coliseum Museum is pleased to welcome the unique, scrap metal sculptures of Alberto Calderon, Sterling, IL., to our gallery.
Alberto entered two sculptures in the Paw Prints Art Exhibit, which is on display August 1st - September 13th. The pieces are a fish and a chameleon, (which received an honorable mention). The pieces in our gallery display case area are a Tractor, Wasp and Human Hand.
Scrap metal sculptures are three-dimensional artworks crafted from discarded metal materials like old tools, vehicle parts, and industrial scraps, often transformed through techniques like welding, bending, cutting, and assembling into a wide variety of forms, including figurative, abstract, or kinetic designs. These sculptures can be intricate, detailed pieces, showcasing the artist's ability to repurpose industrial materials into something new and expressive, blending the industrial aesthetic with artistic creativity. |
