Details: | On display mid-April through July of 2023, Between Life and Land: Identity explores ways in which land can be intertwined with how we build our cultural, political, and national identities. The artists included respond to historical uses of landscape in mythbuilding, as well as mine the conceptions and misconceptions that continue to influence our relationship to certain lands, and include Adam Bateman, Ann Böttcher, Blue Curry, Al Denyer, Daniel George, Rashawn Griffin, Levi Jackson, Ron Linn, Richard Misrach, Jared Ragland, Wendy Red Star, Jerrin Wagstaff, Jaclyn Wright, and Steven Yazzie, among others. Between Life and Land is a three-part exhibition series on display throughout the 2023 calendar year. The exhibition series examines our relationship to land through the lens of more than 30 artists. Each exhibition in the series explores a singular theme to bring a deeper understanding of how this relationship has formed, evolved, and today continues to change.
