| Details: | This 10-week course will focus on hands-on learning, important skills and filling the skills gap. Several local employers are seeking… More employees who can aluminum weld.
Topics include:
• Aluminum Welding Safety
• Aluminum Welding Equipment Setup
• Aluminum Stringer Welds
• Aluminum Step Welding in all positions:
1. Horizontal
2. Vertical Up and Down
3. Overhead
4. Basic Blueprint Reading
Student will need:
• Welding Hoods
• Steel Toed Boots
• Safety Glasses
• Green Welding Jacket
• Welding Gloves (all leather)
• Ear Plugs
• Wire Brush
• Students must wear all cotton, no nylon or polyester, no holes or ravels.
This course is $1,500 per person. Financial assistance is available to West Virginia residents who qualify. Funding and/or payment plan must be secured by April 14, 2023, two weeks prior to class. A minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 5 students are needed to run the course.
The program will run February 17 until April 28, 2023, every Friday, from 6 - 9 p.m. at the WVU Parkersburg Applied Technology Center on main campus with instructor Carl Collins. |
