| Details: | The PMA is honored to announce the participating artists in the juried exhibition Untitled, 2020: Art From Maine In A _______ Time, opening February 12, 2021. When we announced an open call asking Maine artists to share what they’ve been working on in the year 2020, we had no idea what to expect. We knew that events of 2020 profoundly impacted everyone in different ways, from personal hardship due to effects of the COVID-19 pandemic to concerns around the election and political instability to solidarity with a coalescing movement against systemic racism. What we didn’t know was how artists working in Maine were coping with, and responding to, this pivotal moment in our history. What we learned is that Maine’s artistic communities are resilient and continuing to thrive in 2020. |
