Details: | The Pali word "metta" is often translated as "loving-kindness". The practice of metta meditation is meant to open one's heart to the healing of self and others, overcoming the traumas of hate and dislike, and empowering the practitioner to dive deep into forgiveness and loving compassion. The ancient Vedic texts of India state that the heart is the source of truth, feeling and knowing and the seat of universal consciousness in each being. During this life we are known to guard our hearts and even shut them down and lock them up, which makes the truth of love even less accessible.
This weekend we will explore the human emotions of love, hate, dislike, suffering, healing and forgiveness. We will use the traditional style of metta meditation as our path to unfold ourselves to a deeper and more curative truth. This is challenging but necessary work if one wishes to experience true peace.
