TRR Fredericksburg is hosting intermediate level paddling sessions on the Lower James (LJ) for Veterans their families!

Note: These sessions will be water level dependent. If the James River is above 6 ft the session will be moved to the Upper James for fun there and will be noted on the FB page in advance. Trips will go rain or shine as long as there is no lightning and wind is under 15 mph.

Participants should sign up in advance of the session to ensure we have good ratio of TRR guides to participants in place. If you have never paddled the Lower James with TRR before you need to be cleared prior to joining on the water for the needed LJ skills. Those requesting a step up from a Beginner status should contact Joe or Pam prior to joining the trip to discuss your current skills.

Participants should have the necessary ferrying, eddying, edge control and combat rolling skills needed for Class 3 whitewater. Participants should plan to come with their own gear. If gear is needed it must be coordinated in advance as it is not kept on site in Richmond.

We will meet at the 14th Street takeout to set shuttle and plan to leave the takeout at 5 PM for Reedy Creek.
