Details:Calling all veterans and active military members! Join Everyday Bliss with the help of the 4th HOOAH WI for Veterans Yoga every Sunday at 11 am. This is a beginner's level class and is open to Veterans and Significant others. Yoga is FREE to veterans and active-duty members (please bring proof) and $5 for significant other. Advanced registration is available by calling 262-781-8102 or emailing info@everyday-bliss.com, but is not required to attend.

This class is led primarily by Everyday Bliss teacher, Alison Gerdts. Ali has been working in the mental health and wellness field for over 5 years, and in her current role, she specializes in teaching yoga to children and adults recovering from eating disorders. Ali teaches a variety of yoga classes including restorative, yin, and Hatha. She holds a Master’s degree in health education, is a Certified Health Education Specialist, Registered Yoga Teacher, and specializes in therapeutic recreation.
Ali’s hope is to offer an inclusive environment for all people to find their own practice of self-love. She believes in approaching yoga practice, and life in general, with curiosity and a growth mindset.

This class is for all levels and will positively benefit all who participate. Yoga is for everyone. Every vet that attends 5+ classes will receive a mat, block, and strap provided by 4th HOOAH WI!

“I had always been active and athletic until returning from my last tour in Iraq in bad shape. The Army was supportive, but it took several years of being very ill until my civilian medical team finally diagnosed PTSD, and by this time my physical strength, as well as my mental spirit had taken a huge hit. I felt alone, and every time I was in public, a wave of anxiety came over me. Then, my new physician suggested that I try yoga. My first response was to panic – I wasn’t ready to be surrounded by a group of strangers in a new environment, but with support from my husband, my service dog, and friends, I finally ventured out of my house and into the yoga studio. In the back of the room, with my mat unrolled up against the wall, I learned to relax, to focus my mind, to control my breathing. I started eating better and running again *until re-injuring my knee). Now, more than 4 years later, yoga is an integral part of my life and recovery.
