| Details: | Kinderhaven Bradley Method® Childbirth Course
NOTE: Although this class is currently schedule to take place in person at Authentic Birth Center in Wauwatosa, it is possible that it may be changed to a virtual class at any point if it is deemed unsafe due to Covid-19.
Join us for this comprehensive class in the Bradley Method® of Natural Childbirth. This twelve week series of classes will prepare both the expecting person and their support person to make informed decisions about their pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum experience.
This class is designed for families interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the natural processes of labor and birth in order to help them take ownership of their birth experience and make the best choices for their families based on evidence-based research.
The $400 fee covers one birthing person and their chosen support person or people.

During the 12 weeks, topics covered will include:
Staying healthy and low risk during pregnancy with nutrition, physical exercises and optimal fetal positioning
Choosing a supportive care provider, birth place and birth team
Understanding the physiologic labor process and stages
Comfort measures and coping techniques
Physical, mental and emotional relaxation techniques
The role of the support person as labor coach
Navigating typical interventions and complications that come up during birth and putting together a birth plan
Learning to make confident, informed decisions and feel comfortable being your own advocates
Breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, newborn procedures and care
