Details: | Detroit Symphony Trio - July 31
About this event
Excitement is building in anticipation of live performances returning to the White Lake area. From July 29 through August 7, the White Lake Chamber Music Festival will present an impressive array of exceptional performances! Excellent programming, world-class artists, and inspiring classical music performances will take place in a variety of venues in the White Lake area.
Featured on Sunday, July 31, at 7PM will be the Detroit Symphony Trio with Kimberly Kaloyanides Kennedy – violin, Jeff Zook – flute, and David LeDoux – cello. They will perform works of by François Devienne, Mozart, Dvorak, and more.
The Detroit Symphony Trio was formed in 2015 after the Detroit Symphony began its mission to bring symphonic and chamber music into the neighborhoods and communities surrounding Orchestra Hall and Detroit. Since then the Trio has enjoyed performing throughout Michigan, bringing innovative and inspiring sounds to audiences of all ages.
Mark Stryker of the Detroit Free Press referenced flutist Jeff Zook’s chamber music expertise and soloistic flair as “employing a deep-chested, seductive tone that suggested a mezzo-soprano rather than a true soprano voice, Zook dispatched the scampering passagework with happy-go-lucky flair. The lyrical melodies were played with natural beauty”
Kimberly Ann Kaloyanides Kennedy won her coveted position as a violinist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at the age of 22. In 2003, Kennedy further realized her dream when she became Associate Concertmaster.
David LeDoux came to the DSO from the Syracuse Symphony, where he served as Principal Cellist from 2006-2012. David has appeared as a soloist with the Syracuse Symphony, the Skaneatelas Festival Chamber Orchestra, the Tulsa Philharmonic, the Oklahoma State University Symphony, the Louisiana Sinfonietta and the Mid-Texas Symphony.
