Job Description: Reporting to the auction GSM, the Sales Manager will assist the execution of the overall sales strategy at the individual auction location. The Sales Manager must work with the GSM to build and lead the outside sales team with the sole purpose of achieving all sales and performance objectives at the individual auction location by creating an environment that drives efficient sales and operational excellence. The Sales Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with all customers including individual dealers, dealer groups, rental companies, institutional sellers as well as factory accounts. The Sales Manager is responsible for assisting with defining the sales plan with the Auction GM, GSM and Regional Managers and setting the plan in motion to insure achievement of all sales objectives.
Details of Job: Manage outside sales team and drive full utilization of all team members. Assist in preparation of a monthly/weekly sales plan and sales focus for the department to meet online and in lane sales budget. Enforce activity minimums for dealer visits, dealer calls, prospects, and fall outs. Assist with managing sales territories utilizing CRM tool. Manage use of the CRM tool to document all sales team activities. Assist with managing all dealer sales lanes and assignment of numbers to dealer consignors. Work with the GM and GSM to establish criteria. Utilize best practices to help achieve sales goals. Evaluate and develop team members to achieve key sales objectives by account management. Responsible for the understanding and execution of Operational Health Assessment as it pertains to the sales department. Make available to the sales team all marketing materials and set specific goals for introduction and education of your marketplace for all products and services. Foster continual improvement of the Customer Experience at auction and online to achieve growth and sales goals. Work with auction operations team to refine operational processes for sale inventory to ensure operational excellence for all customers. Monitor special deals, promotions and expenses to ensure the auctions financial goals are achieved. Make sure all Department area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents immediately. Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelors degree preferred with seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in automobile industry with two (2) years supervisory experience required. Auction experience preferred. Must possess excellent communication and management skills. Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license. |
