Human Resources Coordinator
Position Summary
The Human Resource Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Human Resources. This position will be involved in several HR functions, with a focus on supporting the employment cycle, administering training, documentation, compliance and reporting.
Essential Functions
• Coordinate the activities of the hiring process, including advertising and posting positions; scheduling interviews, conducting background checks; new hire orientations, etc.
• Coordinate and/or facilitate learning and development opportunities for employees
• Schedule all EverFi/Lawroom online trainings
• Update HR handbook, guides and policies as needed
• Assists with internal and external HR related inquiries
• Maintain personnel files, including archiving and conducting audits to ensure employee files are accurate and in compliance
• Ensure I-9 documents are accurately maintained and complete in accordance with federal regulations
• Support the annual performance review process
• Provide general administrative support for the Human Resource Department and for the Vice President of Finance and Operations.
• Manage the time and attendance process for student payroll
• Maintain the organizational chart for the college
• Keep current with HR industry trends
• Track employee paid time off within ADP
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 3 years’ experience in Human Resources
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work effectively with administration, faculty and staff at all levels
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Must demonstrate maturity and poise in responding to the faculty, staff and external community
• Ability to take and follow directions
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Highly computer literate with capability in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, computer skills will be tested
• Commitment to diversity and serving the needs of a diverse community.
• Prior experience in higher education preferred
